The Logo Design Process

Step 1: Preparation. We start with having you fill out a Creative Brief Logo Design Questionnaire. The first section covers questions about your business so we can learn more about your company history, what goods or services you sell, as well as what your typical customer looks like. The second section gets into more detail about your logo design, covering any specific requests you have for your design like colors, layout, fonts, as well as what kind of logos you like for reasons of look and feel or style. Upon reviewing your responses, we will follow-up with any questions before we begin designing.
Step 2: Design. Using your instruction from the Creative Brief, we design a specified number of initial concepts for you to choose from. (The number of concepts shown depends on what logo design package you purchase). These are not rough concepts but fully-designed logos. All our logo designs are made according to industry standards using the Adobe Illustrator vector editing software. As we design, we take into account important design principles of hierarchy, balance, layout, color, messaging, typography, effectiveness, professionalism, and versatility. When ready, the logo designs are emailed to you for your review, usually within 5-7 business days after purchase.
Step 3: Refinement. After reviewing the initial logo designs, we have you pick the design you like the best, and request tweaks or adjustments. This is called a revision round. While some lower-level design packages include limited revision rounds, our most popular include unlimited revision rounds to allow you to have us revise the design to your liking. A typical revision round takes 1-2 business days.

Step 4: Delivery! Once finalized, we produce all the final logo files (for both print and web, including the vector artwork source file) of your finalized design and email them to you for your use! Including in these files are:

1. Vector files (.ai, .eps, and .pdf), as well as raster files (.jpg and .png) in a large variety of sizes from small to x-large.
2. If your logo is conducive to appearing in one color, we also prepare these same logo file types in monochrome black and monochrome white variations at no extra charge.
3. Also if your design is conducive, we prepare a separated color icon or favicon file that you can use on your website tab or for a social media avatar.
4. Finally, a logo design certificate with a guide that explains how to use each file type is included. For some design packages, we also include a style guide outlining fonts and colors used in the logo. This document also certifies that we transfer copyright and ownership to you of your finalized design.

In total you are getting 30+ files of your logo, giving you flexibility for a variety of different uses. Should you desire extra files or custom variations beyond what is explained above, just ask and we’ll put together an add-on package for you!
